TestNavigator 17.0 has been released, bringing several new features, expanded reporting options, renewed e-mail communication, and numerous bug fixes to support more efficient test management.
The aim of the new release is to make testing processes more transparent, better organized, and easier to track, especially in environments involving multiple testers, more complex test cycles, and larger projects.
What has changed?
Assigning testers within test cycles
One of the key new features in TestNavigator 17.0 is that test cases can now be assigned directly to testers within test cycles. This makes it easier to delegate tasks, track current responsibilities, and organize the testing process.
Assignments can be modified, test cases can be reassigned to other testers, and tests can also be filtered by the assigned tester. With the new "Only my tests" view, testers can quickly review their own tasks and focus more easily on the test cases that fall within their area of responsibility.
Pausing test case executions
In the new version, test case executions can be paused and resumed using the pause/unpause function. This is especially useful in situations where testing needs to be temporarily interrupted due to external circumstances, but the execution should not be closed or restarted.
Another important change is that when a test case is reassigned, its execution is automatically set to a paused state. This makes the process easier to track when responsibility changes.
App type selector
When creating a new app, users can now select the app type, which helps distinguish between project testing and application testing. This provides a clearer structure in environments where multiple testing objectives, systems, or development units are managed in TestNavigator.
Expanded Test Case report
The content of the Test Case XLS report has been expanded: exports now also include test steps. As a result, the report provides a more detailed view of test cases and better supports documentation, analysis, and the sharing of testing results.
Renewed e-mail communication
Invitations and system messages now have a more professional e-mail format. The renewed communication provides a more consistent appearance and helps make notifications from TestNavigator easier to understand and follow.
Expanded related artifact statistics
Related artifact statistics have also been expanded with new information. In the new version, users can now see, among other things, the extent of changes, coverage data, and additional related metrics. This provides a more accurate overview of the status, changes, and test coverage of related items.
Bug fixes and fine-tuning
TestNavigator 17.0 also includes several smaller improvements, bug fixes, and refinements. These are aimed at ensuring more stable operation, smoother usage, and an improved user experience.
